Hallo! LEAD-IN Begins in Austria

Teach for Austria (TFA) kicked-off the two-year-long Erasmus+ Leadership Empowerment and Development for Inclusive Education in Europe (LEAD-IN) project with 24 participants from 15 schools meeting at its office in Vienna.

The event was marked by open discussions about the challenges and encouraging moments that mark the creation of an inclusive educational environment. It set a precedent for honest exchange of ideas on equal terms and the weaving of a network of support, the main goal of which is the advancement of the student body in their institutions.

The aforementioned community-building is one of the aims of LEAD-IN, which sees bringing these school leaders together as an opportunity to extend potential beyond its current confines. In interaction, the project hopes to enable them to not only manage but create a vision for their schools that braces through their respective challenges.

The large number of participants has TFA Project leader Yvonne Teufel-Dupont in awe. “Principles voluntarily signing up for training sessions with us? Hardly imaginable,” she says, referencing how little trust such professionals used to have in TFA. She takes school leaders’ eagerness to take part in the project as a characteristic of commitment to change for a better future and as a sign of faith in the NPO’s efforts.
