Partners
The LEAD-IN consortium brings together four non-government organisations with expertise in developing leadership programs, teachers and school leaders support and training, and one university of applied sciences and arts with expertise in school leadership research and training. Two associated partners will support the recruitment of school leaders and the dissemination activities as associated partners to the project.
Teach For Austria is the project coordinator for the LEAD-IN project. Established in 2011, it’s a non-governmental and non-profit organisation specialised in the field of education, the main focus and vision of which is to work towards reducing inequities in the Austrian education system. Teach For Austria operates by recruiting excellent and highly motivated recent university graduates and young professionals with strong leadership skills and preparing and supporting them in becoming full-time teachers for two years in kindergartens and secondary schools with a high percentage of students from socio-economic disadvantaged backgrounds. The program’s goal is to raise student achievement and aspirations, thus improving their life opportunities.
The Teach for Poland Foundation was established in July 2020 and began its activities as the 61st organization worldwide inspired by the idea and model of Teach for All. The primary statutory goal of Teach for Poland is to work towards reducing educational inequalities and improving the quality of the education system so that every child in Poland has the opportunity to discover and develop their potential during their formal education. The Foundation’s primary form of activity is its support and development program for novice teachers—the EduLeadership Development Program—which is recognised by teachers, principals, and business partners as highly effective and modern. By working with public, private and non-profit partners, Teach for Poland develops good practices of leadership development. In 2022 the foundation launched a six-month program to support intercultural assistants in addressing the educational needs of refugee children as Poland faced an unprecedented influx of 4 million refugees since February 24, 2022.
Since its creation in 2013, Teach for Belgium has had one vision for the future of the country – that one day, all students have the same opportunities to succeed, regardless of their socio-economic background. To achieve this, the organisation acts at two levels. At the individual level (since 2013), it attracts, trains, and supports individuals committed to teaching in the most disadvantaged schools in the country. At the system level (since 2020), it shares and collaborates on the training of staff members and develops training trajectories for teachers and mentors of starting teachers. Teach for Belgium also identifies and disseminates effective practices, concrete tools, and mindsets that improve learning outcomes, support positive relationships in education, and increase the resilience of students and educational teams.
Karel de Grote University of Applied Sciences and Arts (KdG) is one of the larger universities of applied sciences and arts in Flanders, Belgium, with 7 campuses in Antwerp and close to 15.000 students. KdG offers 25 degree programmes and 49 specialisations in 6 fields of study, including Teacher Education. Founded in 1994, KdG still strives to incite intercultural dialogue and awareness, both within its curricula, its student body and several of the research projects it undertakes. KdG’s learning context is innovative and challenging. In a co-creative atmosphere with students, alumni, teachers and professionals KdG enlarges its powerful and interdisciplinary learning environments. Its methods encourage knowledge sharing and learning through experiences and cases, across fields of study and workplace learning. Their curricula, education, and evaluation methods proactively anticipate new workplace and society developments, on a solid basis and drawn up for students.
Teach For Bulgaria is a leading non-profit organisation in education established in 2010 with the mission of supporting the education system in providing high-quality education to every child in Bulgaria, regardless of his/her socio-economic background. Currently its core program Model Schools supports school teams through training and professional learning communities to ensure school-wide transformation. In addition, the organisation is developing an online platform for educators—prepodavame.bg—where good practices, online courses, handbooks, and other various resources are shared with a wide group of teachers and school leaders. By working with public, private, and nonprofit partners, the organisation develops and disseminates good practices throughout the education sector, with the goal of scaling the positive impact of such practices and reaching more of Bulgaria’s students.
- The European Office of the Vienna Board of Education joins as an associate partner as the project targets schools that participate in the VEB initiative in Vienna’s Favoriten district, which is called “Education Challenge Favoriten”.
- The Association of Principals in School Education in Bulgaria (APSEBG) is one of the two officially recognized principal associations in Bulgaria with members from more than 50 locations all over Bulgaria. As an organisation servicing school leaders, they are interested in this transnational project for development of school leaders.
